Personal Care
|

1. Assist with bathing (shower, sponge bath).
2. Assist with getting in and out of shower.
3. Assist with washing hair and hard to reach places.
4. Grooming, dressing, picking out appropriate clothes, drying hair, applying make up, shaving, applying dentures, brushing teeth and glasses.
5. Eating - Assist with set up, feeding if needed, supervising while eating and providing nutritious meals.
6. Toileting- Assist clients in and out of bathroom, incontinent care, commodes, pads and skin care.
7. Ambulation- Assist clients with walkers, canes and wheelchairs. We do range of motion (ROM) exercises with clients if needed and keep the environment safe by removing scatter rugs, cords or any other objects that can cause falls. |

Basic Health Monitoring

1. Temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration monitoring as needed per doctor/nurse instructions.
2. Blood Glucose checked, monitored and documented if needed.
3. Weight documented weekly.
4. Foley Catheter Care - Monitoring intake/output document.
5. Daily catheter care including emptying, draining, cleaning and securing drainage bag.
6. Nutrition-follow any special diet requirements or restrictions. |

Companionship

1. Sitting and conversating with clients in home, reading the
newpaper, discussing current events, helping with phone calls and assisting with making appointments. |

Medication Management
|
| |
|
1. Reminding clients when to take medications.
2. Give clients medication in their hands when a responsible person has prepared them.
3. Call pharmacy when medications are due to be refilled.
4. Contact clients' doctor when needed for “no refills” on perscriptions. |

Ostomy Care

1. Empty and change old ostomy bag as needed.
2. Check skin for irritation. |

Respite Services
|
| |
|
1. 24 hour respite service in clients home.
2. Massachusetts state approved 24 hour respite service in adult foster home. (one week notice is preferred).
3. Mass Caregivers office is also a residence and
approved respite home.
4. Mass Caregivers has three clients residing in the home. We have two respite beds. One private and one shared. We also provide all meals including special diets, snacks, showers, assistance with medication, cable t.v. and a 24 hour in home staff. |

Household Tasks

1. Light house keeping (part of personal care service) Full Housekeeping (billed separately). Light house keeping - light dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, cleaning the kitchens and washing the bathroom after showers and sponge baths.
2. Laundry - Washing, folding and putting away clients' clothes.
3. Meals - Prepare and cook meals for clients.
4. Organization of clients’ bills. |
